AWARGAN was born from the will to share all the richness and virtues of organic Argan oil, both in terms of food and cosmetics.
Headquartered in Morocco, we have been producing Argan oil since 2016, which we distribute throughout Morocco, Europe (Germany, Spain, Italy, Sweden, United Kingdom) and Asia (Korea, China) as well as North America.
As an economic stakeholder, we believe that we have a social and environmental responsibility.
This is why we wanted to join the Fair for Life program (fair trade) as well as the Mohammed VI Foundation, because we wish to contribute to the preservation of the Argan grove and to the improvement of the living conditions of the population of this region.
A mutual benefit is a shared benefit, a shared benefit is a sustainable benefit.
We therefore act responsibly and with respect for our ecosystem.
We strive every day to work in this direction with our employees, the harvesters, the women who crush for us, the cooperatives, our various suppliers, our partners, our customers.
We therefore refrain from using machines to crush the nuts, crushing being the only source of income for women in this rural area of the Argan grove region.
For us, the women and men are the ones who make the difference.
At AWARGAN, we consider that respect, the value of commitment and the development of each individual are essential to fulfill our mission. Having a positive impact on our ecosystem is the profound understanding of our commitment.
Quality is our mission and best value for money is our goal.
We are committed to selecting the best raw materials, and to respecting high standards of hygiene and safety to guarantee the high quality of our products throughout the year.
Our seriousness is recognized by our certifications.
Argan oil comes from the fruits of the argan tree. This thorny tree with a gnarled trunk, which can grow as tall as 10 meters and live up to 200 years, is an endemic species growing almost exclusively in the south-western region of Morocco, in the Souss-Massa-Draâ valley. With the desire to reconcile the preservation of nature and the development of human activities, UNESCO classified the Argan grove – which brings together the millions of argan trees in the country and covers about 80,000 km2 – as a biosphere reserve in 1998.
Considered by the Berbers as a “blessed tree of the Gods”, the argan tree, in addition to being very hardy, has many uses: pasture for livestock, a barrier against desertification … But above all, it is known far beyond the borders of the Cherifian kingdom for the oil it produces from its fruit.

The label promotes an approach to business that, through ethical, fair and respectful partnerships, constitutes an important driving force behind positive and sustainable change for people and their environment.
A trade that contributes, in particular, to improving the living conditions and social benefits of all beneficiary workers; or that promotes the sustainable development of a region by maintaining the social fabric, particularly in rural areas.
The principles thus guaranteed apply to all actors in the supply chain, from producers to brand owners and buyers.
Because it is essential to respect the ancestral know-how of Berber women and the different actors in the Argan oil production chain on the one hand, and to preserve the Argan grove on the other. In addition, our products are aimed at demanding customers who are aware of the responsibility of everyone in safeguarding all these equilibria.
Concretely, we guarantee a minimum price for the purchase of the raw material, even in the event of a fall in market prices. We pay 25% more for the women who crush for us in order to significantly impact their standard of living thanks to this Fair for Life bonus.
In addition, a fair premium is invoiced to our customers to finance a development fund for the women of the Souss-Massa-Draâ valley who crush the nuts for AWARGAN.
This fund is intended to improve their working conditions, their quality of life and their environment. It is managed by a committee of 7 people, including 3 AWARGAN representatives and 4 women representatives, and is responsible for achieving the set objectives.
We have retained 4 strategic axes :
